Wot, no Finn foto ??!

He was snoozing in the car when I was papped. He had a stroll round the Railway Centre a little later.

Glad JayMac & PhilWakely visited us today and that the rain kept off until after departure! Always hard work for the Volunteers but a satisfying job well done.

Some exceptionally complicated shunting moves to .....
- move Clan Line's support coach into a siding;
- turn Clan Line;
- move supporting diesel, 47848, from one end to the other;
- use local diesel shunter to propel support coach to the 'London' end;
- finally move Clan Line to the 'London' end.

*** Edited to correct supporting Class 47 number! ***

Correct.

I managed to get to Yeovil Railway Centre from Tisbury just as the 'Clan Line' hauled Sherborne Christmas Carol railtour arrived, where it was fed, watered and turned. I met up with fellow forum member Phil Wakely here. I think I might have been papped...

Correct.

I managed to get to Yeovil Railway Centre from Tisbury just as the 'Clan Line' hauled Sherborne Christmas Carol railtour arrived, where it was fed, watered and turned. The Railway Centre and its cafe were open for the railtour, catering for the large crowd of enthusiasts, and some passengers from the train, there to see the various shunting moves.

I met up with fellow forum member Phil Wakely here. I think I might have been papped...

I'm feeling Midsomer Norton ...

Sorry no. We're running out of heritage rail locations in Somerset...

indeed ... there's the Yeovil Railway Centre of course ... and that would have been a natural today so see the main line steam.

It has something of the air of a heritage railway about it: West Somerset Railway?
