Reminded of one of my old school reports many years ago ' Gentle decline continues'.

If only the "gentle decline" was delayed and cancelled as often as their trains are................

(I have now put the GWR Delay Repay log in page on "speed dial" on my PC !)

I went down to the station in Melksham to mark this momentous occasion - unfortunately however it was showing as delayed, and sure enough it was eventually cancelled. Says it all, really.

Could've done better. Much better.

Yep, that's a pretty fair and succinct assessment.

I’ll give them an A.

As well as anyone else would’ve done.

18 years on today since it was announced that First Group had won the Greater Western Franchise - 13th December 2005.  At that time - and for a handover period until the following 1st April - National Express had been running our local trains in Melksham.

As their running of the trains here comes of age, how have they done?
