Our mission is to inform people of the climate impact of aviation and inspire people to travel by other means.
Flight Free UK is a charity that encourages people to travel without flying. We educate the public about the climate impact of aviation, and give information and inspiration for travelling by other means. We run the Flight Free Challenge which asks people to take one year off flying to reduce emissions, break a habit and try the alternatives.

I can't really take the challenge; habit already broken - not flown since 25th February 2024, and that only because I (morally committed) had to be back to vote in person at the Town Council the following day

Last flight August 2013. I do not think I am in the target group either.

I am hoping to bump into representatives from Flight Free UK at Heathrow tomorrow evening so I can quiz them about alternative methods of getting to Singapore.

There's a conversation to be had about how much aviation the planet can take before it makes life difficult for humans - because of climate; because of direct impacts such as noise; and because it uses resources that might have more vital application elsewhere.
If it turns out the the answer is "not as much as we are forecast to travel by plane" then there's a follow-up question about what to do about it. There are some awkward trade-offs and value problems involved.
